Project Engineer (Plumbing)

Role Purpose

To manage plumbing and drainage engineering deliverables on assigned Innovo MEP projects, coordinating design, procurement, and installation activities for the plumbing scope. 

Key Accountabilities

Technical Management 

  • Review plumbing shop drawings, submittals, and method statements for assigned project scope. 
  • Verify plumbing and drainage design comply with project specifications and local codes. 

Coordination 

  • Coordinate plumbing model updates with the BIM team and resolve clashes with other disciplines. 
  • Liaise with civil and structural teams on builder's work and penetration requirements. 

Site Support 

  • Support site teams with plumbing installation queries and inspection coordination. 
  • Attend site walks to verify plumbing installation matches coordinated drawings and specifications. 

Progress Reporting 

  • Track and report plumbing scope progress against the project programme. 
  • Highlight schedule risks and proposed mitigation measures to the Technical Manager. 

Material & Procurement Support 

  • Review plumbing material submittals for compliance before procurement approval. 
  • Coordinate with Procurement to track delivery of pumps, pipework, and sanitary fittings against programme.

  • Introduce modern tools, technologies and processes that improve efficiency and transparency. 
  • Encourage innovative thinking to enhance outcomes and reduce costs without compromising quality. 

Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge & Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering 
  • Minimum 6–8 years of plumbing MEP project engineering experience 
  • Strong knowledge of plumbing, drainage, water supply, sewage, stormwater, and firefighting systems.  
  • Sound understanding of local authority regulations and applicable plumbing codes and standards (e.g., Dubai Municipality, DEWA, Civil Defence, and relevant international standards where applicable).  
  • Experience reviewing shop drawings, material submittals, method statements, and technical documentation.  
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit (MEP), and BIM coordination processes.
