Role Purpose
The Structure Technical Team Leader is responsible for leading the structural engineering team within the Technical Office, ensuring the timely delivery of high-quality structural engineering solutions throughout the project lifecycle. The role oversees structural design coordination, shop drawings, technical reviews, value engineering, and collaboration with project stakeholders to ensure compliance with project specifications, applicable codes, and company quality standards.
Key Accountabilities
Lead, supervise, and mentor the structural engineering team to ensure efficient project execution.
Plan, assign, and monitor daily workloads and project deliverables.
Review and approve structural shop drawings, IFC drawings, and structural details before submission.
Coordinate structural engineering activities with architectural, MEP, BIM, planning, procurement, and construction teams.
Ensure all structural deliverables comply with project specifications, design intent, local regulations, and international standards.
Review consultant comments and ensure timely implementation and resubmission.
Identify structural design conflicts and develop practical engineering solutions.
Participate in design coordination meetings with clients, consultants, and subcontractors.
Support site teams by providing technical clarifications and resolving structural engineering issues.
Review and evaluate material submittals and technical data related to structural works.
Lead value engineering initiatives to optimize structural designs while maintaining safety, quality, and cost efficiency.
Monitor engineering progress and ensure adherence to project schedules.
Coordinate with procurement teams regarding structural materials and technical requirements.
Ensure proper implementation of approved engineering procedures and company standards.
Review method statements and technical proposals related to structural works.
Monitor compliance with quality assurance and quality control requirements.
Assist in preparing technical reports, engineering studies, and project presentations.
Identify engineering risks and recommend mitigation measures.
Ensure lessons learned and best practices are documented and shared across projects.
Support tendering activities by reviewing structural quantities, specifications, and technical requirements when required.
Develop team capabilities through coaching, technical guidance, and performance management.
Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and company policies.
Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge & Skills
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering.
- 8-10 Years of experience
- Professional Engineering registration is preferred.
