Structure Technical Team Leader

Role Purpose

The Technical Structure Team Leader is responsible for overseeing structural engineering activities, ensuring that all structural designs, calculations, and drawings meet project specifications, safety standards, and regulatory requirements. This role leads a team of engineers and coordinates closely with site, design, and project management teams.

Key Accountabilities

1. Leadership & Team Management
Lead, mentor, and supervise structural engineers and technical staff
Assign tasks, monitor progress, and ensure timely delivery of outputs
Review team performance and provide technical guidance
2. Structural Design & Review
Oversee structural analysis and design for projects (concrete, steel, etc.)
Review and approve structural drawings, calculations, and models
Ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards
3. Technical Coordination
Coordinate with architectural, MEP, and site teams to resolve design issues
Participate in project meetings and provide structural input
Liaise with consultants, subcontractors, and clients
4. Project Support
Provide technical support during construction phases
Review shop drawings and material submittals
Handle RFIs (Requests for Information) and technical queries
5. Quality & Compliance
Ensure all structural works meet quality standards and safety regulations
Implement best practices in structural engineering and construction
Conduct design checks and risk assessments
6. Planning & Reporting
Develop work plans and timelines for structural deliverables
Track progress and report to senior management
Identify risks and propose mitigation strategies

Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge & Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (Master’s degree is a plus)
• 6-8 years of experience in structural engineering
• At least 3–5 years in a leadership or supervisory role
• Experience in construction companies or large-scale projects
