Senior BIM Engineer

Role Purpose

The Senior BIM Electrical Engineer is responsible for leading the development, coordination, and quality control of electrical BIM models across projects. This role involves advanced modeling, multidisciplinary coordination, and ensuring compliance with project standards while supporting project delivery and mentoring junior team members.a

Key Accountabilities

• Lead the development and management of electrical BIM models (power, lighting, ELV, fire alarm, etc.).
• Review and validate models, drawings, and shop drawings to ensure accuracy and quality.
• Coordinate with architectural, structural, and MEP disciplines to resolve clashes and design conflicts.
• Perform advanced clash detection and oversee coordination processes using BIM tools.
• Ensure compliance with BIM Execution Plans (BEP), standards, and project specifications.
• Manage model updates based on design changes, RFIs, and site feedback.
• Oversee the production and submission of electrical shop drawings and as-built models.
• Support quantity take-offs and data extraction from BIM models.
• Mentor and guide BIM electrical engineers and modelers.
• Participate in coordination meetings with consultants, contractors, and clients.
• Contribute to the development and improvement of BIM standards, templates, and workflows.
• Support project planning, scheduling, and resource coordination.

Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge & Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• 6–10 years of experience in BIM electrical modeling and coordination.
• Strong expertise in BIM software (Revit MEP, Navisworks, AutoCAD).
• Proven experience in handling complex projects and leading BIM tasks.
• In-depth knowledge of electrical systems design and construction practices.
• Familiarity with BIM standards (LOD, BEP, IFC) and project delivery processes.
