Role Purpose

The BIM Structural Team Leader is responsible for leading and coordinating the structural BIM team in developing, managing, and delivering accurate structural BIM models and construction documentation. The role ensures compliance with project requirements, BIM execution plans, structural design standards, and project delivery schedules while coordinating effectively with architectural, MEP, and other engineering disciplines.

Key Accountabilities

  • Lead the development and management of structural BIM models for concrete and steel structures.
  • Ensure structural models are accurate, coordinated, and compliant with approved design drawings, specifications, and project requirements.
  • Oversee the modeling of foundations, columns, beams, slabs, walls, structural framing, and other structural elements.
  • Review model development and ensure the appropriate level of development (LOD) is achieved according to project requirements.
  • Coordinate structural models with architectural, MEP, and other discipline models to identify and resolve clashes and design conflicts.
  • Ensure that models are suitable for construction documentation and downstream project requirements.

Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge & Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • 6-8 years of experience in structural BIM modeling and coordination, with relevant team leadership experience.
  • Strong practical experience with Autodesk Revit Structure.
  • Good knowledge of structural systems, including reinforced concrete and structural steel.
  • Experience in multidisciplinary BIM coordination and clash detection.
  • Familiarity with BIM Execution Plans, LOD requirements, model quality control, and information management procedures.
  • Experience in construction documentation, shop drawings, and structural detailing.
  • Previous experience leading or supervising a structural BIM team is required or strongly preferred.
