Role Purpose

Comply with local, legal and international HSE standards, rules and regulations and to implement HSE Management Systems at site. Manage and control all lifting activities at site.

Key Accountabilities

    • Ensure compliance with local, legal and international HSE standards, rules and regulations, and implement HSE Management system; ensure polices regarding HSE are regularly communicated clearly to all employees.
    • Carry out regular daily inspection within sites and monitor high risk activities; ensure full compliance.
    • Ensure risk assessments and permits to work system are implemented and followed by operatives.
    • Prepare lift plans and ensure clear communication to all involved in the activity.
    • Conduct project HSE lifting operations training to riggers HSE team and operations team to ensure deep understanding of the requirements for safe lifting.
    • Inspect and maintain conditions of all lifting equipment and ensure 3rd party certificates are requested in a timely manner for all lifting equipment and accessories.
    • Inspect and record finding for acceptance of mobile plant and equipment on site.
    • Keep all logs of equipment and lifting gear updated.
    • Act as the SME on all aspects of lifting on the project.

Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge & Skills

  • 5+ years’ experience of relevant working experience (preferred in well-established contracting companies in GCC)
  • Lift supervisor certificate holder.
  • Diploma or degree as required by client specs or zoning authority requirements.
  • Ability to work in all outside weather and site conditions, including shift work within a manual/workshop environment.
  • Knowledge of HSE standards, Operational hazards and controls, International HSE standards.
  • Ability to influence employees for the implementation of HSE tools.
  • Ability to accept direction and complete work independently, demonstrating confidence and conviction with the ability to intervene at all times.
  • A self-starter with a high degree of initiative.
  • Ability to carry out risk assessments and provide improvement recommendations.
