Role Purpose

The purpose of this role is to work closely with the Senior Tax Manager to provide tax advice to the group’s businesses as their business lines, operating models and geographical footprints develop and to manage corporate tax, international tax, and transfer pricing compliance obligations across the group’s UK, Middle East, and Africa operations. 

Key Accountabilities

The key responsibilities of the Tax Analyst include:

  • Assist in preparation, review and filing of periodic regional direct tax compliance obligations including corporate tax returns, CbC notifications/report, transfer pricing forms, etc. as required.
  • Support the implementation and ongoing compliance of the UAE e-invoicing mandate, assisting with ERP master data clean-up and system testing.
  • Support the team in handling international tax matters, including the analysis of cross-border transactions and compliance with withholding tax/VAT obligations. 
  • Extract and analyse relevant financial data from accounting systems (such as Oracle) to ensure accurate reporting for tax purposes, collaborating with internal stakeholders to gather relevant financial information and documentation. 
  • Develop a sound understanding of the group’s businesses and provide ad hoc tax advice to the business units as required.
  • Assist in communications with and requests from stakeholders including external auditors, tax advisors, tax authorities etc.

Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge & Skills

  • University or equivalent education in Tax (or finance/accounting) and professional membership (e.g. CPA/CA) highly preferred.
  • Experience in similar tax role in a large global company or accounting or law firms. Ideally, the candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of relevant post qualification experience.
  • Good understanding and demonstrated experience of general tax principles (including corporate tax, VAT withholding tax, transfer pricing, and tax accounting).
  • Knowledge of financial and accounting practices and procedures (IFRS) preferred, and Oracle experience desirable.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills with ability to build strong relationships with colleagues and stakeholders.
  • Enthusiastic and keen to learn about the evolving tax landscape.
