Senior Quality Engineer

Role Purpose

Supervise and monitor all work procedures and site work according to INNOVO Quality Management System (QMS), the project quality plan (PQP), and project documents

Key Accountabilities

  • Inspect and monitor site works through site surveillance to verify compliance.
  • Formulates & review project quality related documents and submittals
  • Liaise with site operation team, subcontractors, and QA/QC team for daily site works and quality standpoint.
  • Verify and review submittal pertaining to method statement, ITP, from subcontractors to ensure compliance to project quality requirements, and specification.
  • Review and organize concrete plant trial mixes as per specific project requirements and obtain consultant approval.
  • Conduct materials testing and off-site inspection to ensure all materials use on site are in accordance to the approved submittals & signed controlled samples.
  • Ensure a proper frequency of testing & verifying the test results within the specified parameters and submit for consultant review.
  • Liaise with the subcontractors for quality requirements and clearances to avoid rework.
  • Issue Site Observations (SO) and Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) for works deviated from specifications, approved submittals, & drawings, and follow up for the implementation of corrective action for close out.
  • Conduct and monitor daily routine inspection & surveillance work to ensure site activities are carried out in accordance to the project documents
  • Conduct site trainings and briefings for staff engineers and operatives for any newly open work to ensure to establish quality requirements
  • Coordinates with third party laboratory for site testing requirements & verify with project parameter requirements.
  • Maintain records of quality documents, concrete log register, and sign off register in all quality related issues & activities for proper documentation.
  • Initiate snagging /de-snagging activities internal & consultant, Final inspection for handing over, and facilitating approval from concerned authorities/engineers.

Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge & Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering discipline
  • 10+ years experience in construction with 7+ years in quality assurance/quality control functions is required.
  • Must have experience developing and implementing QA/QC procedures.
  • Good analytical and organizational skills.
  • Previous experience in quality control, testing
  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to work well and communicate with internal and external individuals at all levels.
  • Proficient computer skills, including experience with Microsoft Office applications such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook.
  • Ability to work in all outside weather and site conditions within a manual/workshop environment.

Able to climb ladders, scaffolding, walk on rebar mesh, climb ramps and other unstable footings.
