Role Purpose
Reporting to the Project Lead and working closely with the technical and BIM teams, the BIM Architecture Engineer is responsible for the development, coordination, and maintenance of architectural Building Information Models across all project stages. The role supports the delivery of accurate, coordinated, and information-rich models and associated documentation in accordance with project requirements, BIM standards, approved workflows, and design intent.
Key Accountabilities
- Develop, update, and maintain accurate architectural BIM models across all project stages in line with project requirements, BIM standards, approved workflows, and architectural design intent.
- Produce coordinated model-based architectural deliverables, including drawings, schedules, details, and documentation, with a high level of technical accuracy and presentation quality.
- Develop and manage architectural model geometry, data, and level of information/detail to support design development, multidisciplinary coordination, construction, and handover requirements.
- Maintain model health, file integrity, naming conventions, view templates, and architectural content standards throughout the project lifecycle.
- Carry out model federation, clash detection, and coordination activities with structural, MEP, and specialist disciplines to identify, track, and support the resolution of design and construction-related issues.
- Provide technical architectural BIM input and practical solutions to resolve coordination issues while maintaining design intent, buildability, and compliance with project requirements.
- Review architectural models and deliverables to ensure accuracy, completeness, consistency, and compliance with project standards, specifications, and approved design criteria.
- Extract quantities, schedules, sheets, and model data to support design reviews, project reporting, coordination processes, and downstream construction deliverables.
- Ensure that all established HSE and Quality policies relevant to the role are administered and enforced in all areas.
- Report all HSE and Quality violations in accordance with company procedures.
- Carries out all work in a safe manner with consideration for one’s own health, safety and wellbeing and those in the surrounding area. Ensure work activities have no detrimental effect on environment or surrounding communities. Where work is not safe or may have a negative impact on any aspect of the organization stops work and raises the issue to relative line manager or supervisor.
Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge & Skills
- Good understanding of BIM processes, architectural workflows, and relevant standards such as ISO 19650, LOD/LOI, IFC, and COBie.
- Strong skills in architectural BIM modelling, coordination, drawing production, clash detection, and model review.
- Proficiency in Revit, Navisworks, and AutoCAD, with knowledge of families, templates, shared parameters, and model data extraction.
- Strong communication, coordination, and organisational skills, with good attention to detail.
Experience and Professional Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Architecture, Architectural Engineering, Architectural Technology, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 3 years of relevant BIM experience in architecture or the built environment.
Relevant BIM or Autodesk certifications are an advantage.
