Project Engineer (Electrical)

Role Purpose

To manage electrical engineering deliverables on assigned Innovo MEP projects, coordinating design, procurement, and site installation activities for the electrical scope. 

Key Accountabilities

Technical Management 

• Review electrical shop drawings, submittals, and method statements for assigned project scope. 
• Coordinate electrical model updates with the BIM team and resolve clashes. 

Site Coordination 

• Support site teams with electrical installation queries and inspection coordination. 
• Attend site walks to verify electrical installation matches coordinated drawings and specifications. 

Authority Coordination 

• Support DEWA/SEWA/ADDC submission and inspection processes for the project. 
• Track authority approval status and follow up on outstanding comments or conditions. 

Progress Reporting 

• Track and report electrical scope progress against the project programme. 
• Highlight schedule risks and proposed mitigation measures to the Electrical Team Leader. 

Material & Procurement Support 

• Review electrical material submittals for compliance before procurement approval. 
• Coordinate with Procurement to track delivery of panels, cables, and switchgear against programme.

• Introduce modern tools, technologies and processes that improve efficiency and transparency. 
• Encourage innovative thinking to enhance outcomes and reduce costs without compromising quality. 

Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge & Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
• Minimum 4–6 years of electrical MEP project engineering experience
• Good knowledge of electrical systems, including LV distribution, panels, switchgear, cables, lighting, small power, earthing, lightning protection, generators, UPS, and related building services.
• Experience reviewing electrical shop drawings, technical submittals, method statements, material approvals, inspection requests, and project specifications.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit/BIM coordination, Microsoft Office, and other relevant engineering or project-management software.
• Knowledge of UAE electrical authority requirements and standards, including DEWA, SEWA, ADDC, Civil Defence, and consultant approval procedures.
• Strong communication, coordination, problem-solving, technical reporting, teamwork, time-management, and stakeholder-management skills, with the ability to coordinate effectively with consultants, subcontractors, procurement, BIM, QS, and site teams.
