Project Engineer (Electrical)

Role Purpose

The Project Engineer – Electrical is responsible for planning, coordination, execution, and delivery of electrical works on construction projects in compliance with approved drawings, specifications, UAE authority regulations, quality standards, and project schedules. The role supports the Project Manager to ensure timely, cost-effective, and high-quality project completion. 

Key Accountabilities

  • Plan, coordinate, and execute electrical works from project start to handover 
  • Review electrical drawings, specifications, BOQs, and contracts 
  • Prepare method statements, work programs, and technical submittals 
  • Monitor progress and ensure electrical works meet project timelines 
  • Assist the Project Manager in project planning, reporting, and control 
  • Ensure electrical installations comply with project specifications and UAE codes 
  • Provide technical guidance to site engineers, supervisors, and subcontractors 
  • Resolve technical issues, design discrepancies, and site coordination matters 
  • Coordinate electrical works with HVAC, Plumbing, Firefighting, and Civil teams 
  • Liaise with consultants, clients, and authorities for approvals and inspections 
  • Coordinate with suppliers and subcontractors for material procurement and delivery 
  • Attend project meetings and prepare technical and progress reports 
  • Ensure compliance with QA/QC standards and approved procedures 
  • Review and submit material and shop drawing submittals 
  • Oversee testing and commissioning of electrical systems 
  • Support snag clearance and final handover documentation  
  • Assist in cost monitoring, variations, and claims preparation 
  • Maintain accurate project documentation and as-built drawings 
  • Support procurement through technical evaluation of electrical materials 
  • Ensure electrical works comply with site HSE policies and safety regulations 

Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge & Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related field 
  • 5–8 years of experience in electrical works within construction / MEP projects 
  • Minimum 2–3 years in a project engineering role 
  • Proven experience in UAE construction projects 
  • Knowledge of UAE authority requirements (DEWA, ADDC, SEWA, Etihad WE, etc
