Production Engineer

Role Purpose

A qualified and experienced Plant Nursery Production Engineer to manage and oversee nursery operations, including plant propagation, cultivation, and dispatch. The role involves ensuring high-quality plant production, optimizing resources, and supporting landscape project requirements in line with company standards and project timelines.

Key Accountabilities

• Develop and implement nursery production plans based on project requirements
  Forecast plant quantities, growth cycles, and delivery schedules
  Coordinate with landscape and project teams for demand planning
• Supervise propagation activities (seeds, cuttings, grafting, etc.)
  Ensure proper soil mix preparation, potting, and transplanting
  Monitor plant growth, health, and development stages
• Manage irrigation systems (manual and automated)
  Prepare and control fertigation schedules
  Ensure efficient water use in line with sustainability practices
• Oversee daily nursery activities and workforce management
  Ensure availability of materials (soil, pots, fertilizers, pesticides)
  Maintain nursery layout and organization
• Ensure all plants meet required quality standards (size, health, specifications)
  Monitor and control pests and diseases using best practices (IPM)
  Maintain records of plant health and treatments
• Coordinate plant dispatch as per project timelines
  Ensure proper handling, labeling, and transportation of plants
  Liaise with site teams for smooth delivery and installation
• Monitor production costs and resource utilization
  Prepare regular reports on production status, losses, and efficiency
  Recommend improvements for cost optimization
• Ensure compliance with local regulations and environmental standards
  Promote use of native and climate-suitable plant species
  Implement sustainable nursery practices
• Coordinate with suppliers, consultants, and internal teams
  Support client visits for plant selection and tagging
  Assist procurement team with technical specifications

Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge & Skills

Bachelor’s Degree in Agriculture, Horticulture, Landscape Engineering, or related field
Minimum 3–5 years of experience in nursery production or landscape projects (UAE/GCC experience preferred)
Strong knowledge of plant species suitable for arid climates
Experience in irrigation and fertigation systems
