Role Purpose
We are seeking a Procurement Engineer with a strong background in MEP projects. The role focuses on sourcing, onboarding, and managing subcontractors and labor suppliers to meet project manpower demands. The candidate can be from electromechanical engineering background and must be specialized in manpower and subcontractor sourcing, onboarding, and performance follow-up.
Key Accountabilities
Subcontractor & Labour Sourcing
- Identify, evaluate, and source qualified MEP subcontractors and labor supply companies.
- Build and maintain a reliable database of approved subcontractors and manpower suppliers.
- Ensure subcontractors meet technical, commercial, and compliance requirements.
- Support projects by fulfilling manpower and subcontractor demands in line with schedules and budgets.
Onboarding & Compliance
- Manage the full onboarding process for subcontractors and labour suppliers.
- Coordinate with Project and Procurement teams to ensure full compliance.
- Ensure all required documentation is submitted, approved, and maintained.
- Support contract finalization, scope alignment, and mobilization to site.
Site Coordination & Follow-Up
- Coordinate with project teams to mobilize subcontractors to site on time.
- Follow up subcontractor performance in terms of productivity, quality, safety, and compliance.
- Address performance issues and support corrective actions in coordination with projects.
Procurement & Commercial Support
- Support procurement activities related to subcontractor packages and labor supply.
- Assist in cost evaluations, comparisons, and negotiations with subcontractors.
- Monitor subcontractor utilization to avoid shortages or surplus manpower.
Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Procurement, Supply Chain, or related field.
- 3+ years of experience in MEP projects, preferably in procurement and manpower sourcing roles.
- Strong experience in subcontractor sourcing, labor supply management, and onboarding.
- Good understanding of MEP trades (Electrical, HVAC, Plumbing, Fire Fighting).
- Strong coordination, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Experience working with site teams and multiple projects simultaneously.
- Knowledge of UAE construction market and subcontractor landscape is an advantage.
