MEP Project Manager

Role Purpose
The MEP Project Manager is responsible for the overall planning, coordination, execution, and delivery of Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) works on construction projects. The role ensures that MEP systems are completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with contractual, technical, quality, and safety requirements. The MEP Project Manager leads MEP teams and coordinates with all stakeholders to achieve successful project delivery.
Key Accountabilities
Project Management & Planning
- Manage end-to-end delivery of MEP works from design review to commissioning and handover.
- Review MEP contract documents, drawings, specifications, and BOQs.
- Prepare MEP execution plans, project schedules, manpower plans, and procurement strategies.
- Monitor progress against approved schedules and take corrective actions as needed.
Technical Oversight
- Ensure proper implementation of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire fighting, ELV, and BMS systems.
- Resolve technical and coordination issues in collaboration with consultants and design teams.
- Review and approve shop drawings, material submittals, and method statements.
Coordination & Stakeholder Management
- Coordinate MEP works with civil, architectural, and structural teams to avoid clashes and delays.
- Liaise with clients, consultants, authorities, subcontractors, and suppliers.
- Lead MEP coordination meetings and contribute to overall project meetings.
Cost & Commercial Management
- Control MEP budgets and monitor costs, variations, and claims.
- Review subcontractor payments, variations, and final accounts.
- Support procurement activities and evaluate technical and commercial offers.
Quality, Testing & Commissioning
- Ensure implementation of QA/QC procedures for all MEP works.
- Oversee testing, commissioning, and system integration activities.
- Manage snagging, defects rectification, and final handover documentation (O&M manuals, as-built drawings).
Health, Safety & Compliance
- Ensure strict compliance with HSE policies and statutory requirements.
- Promote safe working practices and lead safety initiatives on site.
Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge & Skills
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (Master’s degree is a plus).
- 15+ years of experience in MEP works within construction projects.
- Proven experience managing large-scale commercial, residential, hospitality, or mixed-use projects.
- Strong knowledge of international standards and local authority regulations.
