Lab Technician

Role Purpose

To perform material testing for Innovo Infrastructure projects, conducting laboratory and field tests on soil, concrete, and aggregate samples to verify compliance with specifications.

Key Accountabilities

• Sample Testing
  • Conduct laboratory and field tests on soil, concrete, asphalt, and aggregate samples.
  • Calibrate and maintain testing equipment in accordance with standards.
• Documentation
  • Record and report test results accurately to the Quality Engineer.
  • Maintain sample registers and testing certificates.
• Equipment Care
  • Clean, store, and maintain laboratory and field testing equipment after each use.
  • Report equipment faults or calibration due-dates to the Quality Engineer promptly.
• Sample Handling
  • Collect, label, and transport site samples in accordance with testing protocols.
  • Ensure samples are stored under correct conditions prior to testing to preserve validity.
• Health & Safety in the Lab
  • Follow safe handling procedures for laboratory chemicals, tools, and testing apparatus.
  • Maintain a clean and hazard-free laboratory work environment.
• Innovation & Value Creation
  • Introduce modern tools, technologies and processes that improve efficiency and transparency.
  • Encourage innovative thinking to enhance outcomes and reduce costs without compromising quality.

Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge & Skills

• Diploma in Civil Engineering or Materials Science
• Minimum 2–4 years of laboratory testing experience in construction
• Knowledge of relevant testing standards (ASTM/BS)
