IT Infrastructure Manager

Role Purpose

This role is responsible for leading the strategy, delivery, and operational excellence of Innovo’s cloud platforms, core infrastructure, and connectivity technologies.  

 

Operating within a large, distributed construction environment, this role ensures technology is available, secure, scalable, user-focused and tailored to the unique needs of office, site, and mobile-based teams.   

 

This role provides technical leadership and operational accountability for infrastructure services, balancing service stability with controlled change. 

Key Accountabilities

  • Develop and implement the cloud, infrastructure, and connectivity strategy aligned to business needs, construction operations, and technology roadmap. 
  • Own end-to-end infrastructure strategy covering network, WAN, internet, cloud, and hybrid environments 
  • Lead architecture decisions for on-prem, cloud (Azure), and connectivity 
  • Drive optimisation, automation, and modern management practices to increase agility and reduce operational overhead. 
  • Support financial planning, forecasting, and cost optimisation for cloud and infrastructure services. 
  • Design and deliver modern digital workplace enhancements that support hybrid work, collaboration, and site-based activities. 
  • Oversee hybrid infrastructure spanning on-prem environments, network services, hosting, and core platforms. 
  • Ensure all infrastructure and cloud services adhere to security best practice and compliance frameworks. 
  • Work with managed service providers and large-scale technology providers to deliver core services. 
  • Work with Service Operations to ensure effective escalation management and end to end service reliability. 
  • Establish and track SLAs, KPIs, and user experience metrics across cloud, infrastructure, and workplace technology. 
  • Oversee incident, problem, and change management for infrastructure services 
  • Drive standardisation, documentation, and technical roadmaps 

Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge & Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in IT, Information Systems or related field. 
  • 8+ years experience in infrastructure, cloud, or workplace technology, with at least 3-5 years in a senior role 
  • Deep technical expertise in Azure, including governance, architecture, and operations 
  • Experience managing Azure, WAN, SD-WAN, firewalls, Wi-Fi 
  • Proven experience managing large, distributed, multi-site environments – ideally with site-based operational needs 
  • Strong experience in hybrid cloud operations, networks and modern workplace transformation  
  • Experience with ITIL-based service management 
  • Experience working with managed service providers and large-scale technology vendors 
  • Strong decision-maker with good risk awareness and operational discipline 
  • Highly customer centric, focused on usability and reliability  
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement. 
  • Ability to operate in fast-paced environments and manage multiple projects and priorities.
