Role Purpose
The Energy Lead is responsible for leading the day-to-day activities of the Construction Energy Team and ensuring the successful delivery of temporary power, construction energy optimisation, energy monitoring and innovation initiatives across INNOVO projects. The role manages the engineering team, coordinates with internal stakeholders and reports departmental performance to the Energy Manager. The Enery Lead will oversee a small technical team, manage cross-functional coordination, and ensure the successful delivery of energy projects through strong technical expertise, stakeholder engagement, and continuous improvement.
Key Accountabilities
Team Leadership
• Lead, supervise and develop the Energy Engineering Team.
• Plan and prioritize team activities to achieve departmental objectives and project requirements.
• Promote collaboration, innovation and continuous improvement within the team.
Technical Delivery
• Manage temporary power studies, construction energy optimization and energy audits.
• Review and approve technical deliverables before submission to the Construction Energy Manager.
• Ensure engineering solutions are practical, efficient and cost-effective.
Construction Energy Monitoring
• Oversee monitoring of electricity, fuel and temporary plant energy consumption.
• Identify opportunities to improve energy efficiency and reduce operating costs.
• Verify the effectiveness of implemented energy-saving initiatives.
Project Coordination & Innovation
• Coordinate with Project Teams, Plant, Procurement, Tendering and the Sustainability Team.
• Evaluate innovative construction energy technologies and support pilot projects.
• Provide technical support and contribute to value engineering initiatives.
Reporting & Performance
• Prepare monthly energy reports, dashboards and KPI summaries.
• Maintain accurate records of energy consumption, savings and innovation initiatives.
• Monitor team performance and recommend continuous improvement actions.
Governance & Compliance
• Ensure compliance with HSE, Quality and company procedures.
• Support implementation of departmental standards and best practices.
• Promote safe, sustainable and efficient construction energy practices.
HSE and Quality Accountabilities
• Comply with company HSE and Sustainability policies and contribute to maintaining a safe, healthy, and sustainable workplace.
• Adhere to Quality standards and support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance business performance.
• Ensure strict adherence of HSE policies and procedures set. Report HSE incidents/violations etc. to superiors on time.

Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Solar Energy, or related field.
- 8+ years relevant working experience in well-established contracting companies in GCC.
- Strong knowledge of renewable energy systems, solar hybrid solutions, and energy-efficiency technologies.
- Knowledge of HSE standards, Operational hazards and controls, International HSE standards and systems
- Hands-on experience of implementing ISO 45001 & ISO 14001 requirements.
- Ability to influence employees for the implementation of HSE tools.
- Fluent in spoken and written English
MS Office, Power BI (preferred), AutoCAD/Revit (preferred)
