Business Analyst

Role Purpose

The Business Analyst supports the effective translation of business needs into clear, actionable functional and non-functional requirements that enable successful information & technology delivery. Working closely with the IT business partner and delivery teams, the role engages early with business stakeholders to understand their needs and develop detailed functional and non-functional requirements for prioritised initiatives, ensuring solutions are aligned with business outcomes and operational needs.  

Key Accountabilities

• Support the IT Business Partners and delivery teams in capturing and shaping demand from business units.  

• Facilitate workshops and discovery sessions to gather requirements and business context. 

• Translate business needs into user stories, use cases and requirements specifications. 

• Document high-level business needs and pain points to help assess demand for prioritisation.  

• Work with delivery teams to define detailed functional and non-functional requirements.  

• Assist with solution validation, user acceptance testing (UAT), and business readiness activities.  

• Assist Business Architect with mapping of the as-is business processes. 

• Ensure traceability between business needs, requirements, and delivered solutions. 

• Contribute to continuous improvement of business analysis practices and templates. 

• Communicate complex requirements in a clear and accessible way, ensuring documentation is accurate and maintained.  

Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge & Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in IT, Information Systems, Business or related discipline 

• Business Analysis certifications desirable 

• Experience in business analysis, requirements gathering, or similar roles within IT and complex environments  

• Experience translating business needs into structured functional and non-functional requirements 

• Experience with process mapping and modelling techniques 

• Curious mindset with strong listening skills 

• Structured and detail oriented 

• Collaborative and relationship focused 

• Excellent communication skills 

• Adaptable and comfortable working across both strategic discovery and delivery detail
