Structure Team Leader - Ras El Hekma

Role Purpose

We are seeking an experienced Structural Team Leader to lead and coordinate the structural engineering and technical team throughout the project lifecycle. The role is responsible for ensuring the technical accuracy, quality, constructability, and timely delivery of structural engineering and construction-related deliverables.

The Structural Team Leader will provide technical leadership to structural engineers and coordinators, review structural designs and technical documentation, coordinate with architectural and MEP disciplines, and support the construction team in resolving structural technical issues.

The position will work closely with the Project Manager, Technical Manager, BIM team, consultants, subcontractors, QA/QC, planning, procurement, and site teams to ensure structural works are delivered in accordance with approved designs, specifications, codes, standards, and project requirements.

Key Accountabilities

• Lead and supervise the structural engineering and technical team.
• Provide technical direction and guidance to structural engineers, coordinators, and site teams.
• Plan and allocate structural technical activities according to project priorities and deadlines.
• Review the quality and accuracy of structural technical deliverables.
• Identify technical risks and develop practical solutions to structural issues.
• Support project management in resolving complex structural and construction-related matters.
• Ensure structural works comply with approved drawings, specifications, standards, and contractual requirements.
• Review structural design drawings, calculations, specifications, and technical reports.
• Review structural systems, details, reinforcement drawings, steelwork drawings, and other structural deliverables.
• Verify that structural designs are practical, coordinated, and suitable for construction.
• Review design changes and assess their impact on construction, materials, cost, and schedule.
• Identify discrepancies and omissions in design information and coordinate their resolution.
• Review and respond to technical queries and Requests for Information (RFIs).
• Coordinate design clarifications with consultants, designers, and client representatives.

Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge & Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related discipline.
• 6-8 years of relevant experience in structural engineering and construction.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in a senior structural engineering or team leadership position.
• Strong experience in major building, commercial, residential, industrial, infrastructure, or mixed-use construction projects.
• Proven experience leading structural engineering or technical teams.
• Strong experience with structural design review, construction support, shop drawings, technical submissions, and multidisciplinary coordination.
• Experience working with consultants, contractors, subcontractors, and client representatives.
• Professional engineering certification or membership with a recognized engineering body is an advantage.
