Role Purpose
The Civil Site Engineer is responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations at the construction site, ensuring that projects are executed according to approved plans, specifications, quality standards, safety guidelines, and timelines. The role acts as a vital link between the technical office, contractors, consultants, and site workforce.
Key Accountabilities
- Supervise and monitor civil works at the project site including excavation, foundation, concrete, formwork, and finishing works.
- Ensure execution of works as per approved drawings, project specifications, and construction schedule.
- Coordinate with subcontractors, consultants, and site staff to ensure smooth progress of activities.
- Conduct regular inspections and quality checks of construction materials and workmanship.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports and submit them to the Senior/Team Leader Engineer.
- Assist in resolving technical issues and propose site-based solutions where necessary.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental (HSE) regulations on-site.
- Verify quantities and assist in preparing bills of quantities (BOQ), material take-offs, and site measurements.
- Review and interpret construction drawings and shop drawings and ensure they are up to date.
- Monitor site logistics, equipment, and manpower availability and coordinate accordingly.
- Participate in site meetings and coordinate with stakeholders to ensure alignment with project goals.
- Maintain accurate site records including material deliveries, work progress, and inspection logs.
Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or equivalent from an accredited university.
- Minimum 1 year of experience in civil site engineering within the construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and legal regulations.
- Proficient in using engineering software such as AutoCAD, MS Project, and MS Office.
- Experience in reading and interpreting technical drawings and specifications.
