Senior Mechanical Site Engineer - Cairo

Role Purpose

The Senior Mechanical Site Engineer is responsible for leading and overseeing the on-site execution of all mechanical systems within a construction project, including HVAC, plumbing, firefighting, and drainage systems. This role ensures that all mechanical work is completed according to approved designs, industry standards, quality benchmarks, and safety regulations.

Key Accountabilities

• Carry out and oversee mechanical works on-site, including HVAC, plumbing, firefighting, and related systems.
• Review and interpret mechanical drawings, specifications, and material submittals for compliance with project requirements.
• Coordinate with electrical, civil, and architectural disciplines to resolve technical issues and avoid clashes.
• Monitor construction progress and report on mechanical works to ensure delivery within project schedule and budget.
• Inspect and verify mechanical installations for quality, accuracy, and compliance with international standards (ASHRAE, NFPA, SMACNA, IPC, etc.).
• Support testing, commissioning, and handover activities of mechanical systems.
• Prepare technical reports, site observations, and documentation including as-built drawings.
• Identify and escalate potential risks, delays, or conflicts to senior management for resolution.

Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge & Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering.
• Minimum 4 years of relevant experience in mechanical construction works.
• Solid knowledge of mechanical systems, materials, and construction practices.
• Familiarity with international codes and standards (ASHRAE, NFPA, SMACNA, IPC, etc.).
• Proficient in AutoCAD, MS Office, and mechanical design/calculation tools (HAP, DuctSizer is a plus).
• Strong technical, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
• Good communication and coordination skills to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
