Role Purpose
Leads and coordinates the quantity surveying team across all phases of a construction project. The position involves overseeing cost planning, variation control, and subcontractor evaluations. It ensures that the team follows established commercial procedures while aligning cost performance with project objectives.
Key Accountabilities
- Lead, coordinate, and supervise the QS team across all project stages.
- Ensure timely submission of valuations and variations.
- Review and certify the subcontractor’s payment applications.
- Oversee and prepare interim payment applications to the client with supporting documents.
- Prepare and negotiate variation orders with clients, consultants, and subcontractors.
- Support cost optimization strategies and risk management.
- Prepare monthly commercial reports for senior management and stakeholders.
Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or Construction Management.
- Minimum 6 years of progressive experience in quantity surveying and team leadership.
- Strong understanding of commercial and contractual aspects of different contract types.
- Proven team management and coordination experience.
- Deep knowledge of FIDIC contracts, local legislation, and QS standards.
- Proven ability to manage subcontractor contracts and commercial negotiations.
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills with the ability to manage teams and collaborate cross-functionally.
- Proficient in English.
