Quality Deputy Project Manager

Role Purpose

The Deputy Quality Manager supports the Quality Manager in developing, implementing, and monitoring the Quality Management System (QMS) across construction projects. This role ensures that all works, materials, and processes meet contractual specifications, international standards, and regulatory requirements. The Deputy acts as a key liaison between project teams, consultants, and clients to maintain high-quality deliverables and minimize rework or non-conformance. 

Key Accountabilities

    • Quality Management System (QMS): Develop, implement, and maintain the QMS in line with ISO 9001 standards.

    • Support internal, client, and third-party audits, ensuring the timely closure of non-conformities.

    • Review and update quality procedures, method statements, and Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs).

    • Project Quality Assurance: Monitor construction activities for strict compliance with approved drawings, specifications, and codes.

    • Oversee site quality inspections, material testing, and QA/QC documentation.

    • Assist site engineers in resolving quality issues and guide corrective/preventive actions (CAPA).

    • Leadership & Coordination: Supervise department quality engineers, inspectors, and document controllers.

    • Act as Deputy Quality Manager during absences to ensure seamless operational continuity.

    • Collaborate with Project Managers and HSE teams to integrate quality, health, safety, and environmental standards.

    • Reporting & Documentation: Prepare and manage quality reports, Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), and Corrective Action Reports (CARs).

    • Track quality KPIs, analyze performance trends, and report actionable metrics to management.

    • Maintain document control and compile accurate quality records for final handover packages.

    • Training & Development: Train project personnel on quality standards, inspection procedures, and industry best practices.

    • Promote and sustain a culture of continuous operational improvement across all projects.

Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge & Skills

    • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related technical field.

    • Experience: 8+ years of QA/QC experience in large-scale construction projects, including 3+ years in a supervisory or leadership role.

    • Technical Expertise: Comprehensive knowledge of construction codes, site specifications, and international quality standards (ISO 9001, ASTM, BS).

    • Audit Management: Proven hands-on experience executing both internal and external quality audits.

    • Proficient in MS Office Suite and enterprise Quality Management System (QMS) software.

    •  Exceptional leadership, analytical problem-solving, and cross-functional communication skills.
