Role Purpose

The Electrical Procurement Team Leader manages the procurement cycle for construction materials, equipment, and subcontracted services in alignment with project requirements, timelines, and budgets. Ensures the timely and cost-effective sourcing of quality materials while maintaining compliance with company policies and contractual obligations

Key Accountabilities

  • Lead and supervise the electrical procurement team and allocate daily tasks.
  • Review project specifications and material requirements in coordination with engineering and planning teams.
  • Prepare procurement strategies and material procurement plans based on project schedules.
  • Issue RFQs (Request for Quotations), evaluate supplier offers technically and commercially, and participate in negotiation and vendor selection.
  • Create and process purchase orders in the ERP system (e.g., SAP), ensuring timely delivery to sites.
  • Develop and maintain a reliable vendor database, conduct supplier assessments, and maintain strong supplier relationships.
  • Track and monitor material deliveries, ensuring alignment with project timelines and reporting any delays or issues.
  • Coordinate with warehouse, logistics, and finance teams to manage delivery, invoicing, and payment cycles.
  • Support contract review and negotiation for key material and subcontract procurement.
  • Ensure compliance with internal procurement policies and procedures, and support audit requirements.
  • Identify opportunities for cost reduction and value engineering through alternative sourcing or technical evaluations.

Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge & Skills

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Professional certifications such as CIPS, PMP, or Supply Chain certifications are an advantage.
  • 7-10 years of procurement experience in construction, infrastructure, industrial, or EPC projects.
  • Proven experience managing procurement for large-scale construction projects.
  • Strong knowledge of construction materials, equipment, subcontracting, and procurement processes.
