Role Purpose
To manage and oversee all on-site construction activities within the infrastructure scope, ensuring projects are delivered on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with the required quality and safety standards. The Infrastructure Construction Manager acts as the main point of coordination between project stakeholders, subcontractors, and site teams, leading the overall execution of infrastructure works including roads, utilities, and related civil structures.
Key Accountabilities
- Plan, organize, and supervise the execution of infrastructure works in accordance with approved designs, specifications, and project plans.
- Manage day-to-day site activities including manpower, materials, equipment, and subcontractors.
- Monitor project progress, ensuring compliance with construction schedules and reporting deviations to management.
- Review and approve construction methodologies, method statements, and material submittals.
- Ensure all works adhere to safety, quality, and environmental standards.
- Coordinate with technical, planning, procurement, and quality departments to maintain project alignment and resolve technical or logistical issues.
- Conduct regular site inspections to verify workmanship, productivity, and adherence to project specifications.
- Lead site meetings with subcontractors and consultants to review progress and address challenges.
- Manage cost control and resource utilization to ensure work efficiency and adherence to budget.
- Prepare and submit site reports, progress updates, and key performance metrics to the Project Manager.
- Mentor and guide site engineers and supervisory teams to ensure effective performance and professional growth.
Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management.
- Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in infrastructure construction, preferably in large-scale roads, utilities, or heavy civil projects.
- Strong knowledge of infrastructure construction processes, sequencing, and standards.
- Proven experience in managing subcontractors, site teams, and multi-discipline interfaces.
- Proficient in project management tools and software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera).
- Solid understanding of safety regulations, QA/QC procedures, and environmental compliance.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and coordination skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a results-driven approach.
- Ability to work under pressure and deliver projects within strict deadlines.
