Role Purpose
To oversee and coordinate the cost control activities across assigned projects, ensuring accurate monitoring, reporting, and forecasting of project costs in alignment with Innovo Build Egypt’s financial and operational objectives. The Cost Control Team Leader supports the Cost Control Manager in implementing cost management procedures and provides guidance to cost control engineers to ensure proper project cost tracking and performance analysis.
Key Accountabilities
- Monitor and control project costs throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring adherence to approved budgets.
- Review and verify project cost reports, commitments, expenditures, and forecasts.
- Coordinate with project management, planning, and procurement teams to validate cost data and ensure alignment with project progress.
- Analyze cost variances and provide recommendations to maintain cost efficiency and financial control.
- Review and consolidate monthly cost control reports, cash flow statements, and cost performance indicators.
- Support in developing and maintaining cost breakdown structures, coding systems, and cost databases.
- Participate in project reviews and provide input on financial performance and cost trends.
- Ensure accurate recording of actual costs, commitments, and accruals according to company policies.
- Assist in preparing cost-to-complete forecasts and validating quantities and productivity reports from site.
- Train and support junior cost control engineers to ensure data accuracy and adherence to procedures.
- Ensure all cost control activities comply with company standards, financial regulations, and reporting requirements.
Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge & Skills
- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a related non-MEP engineering discipline.
- Minimum 6 years of relevant experience in cost control within the construction industry.
- Strong understanding of project cost control principles, budgeting, and forecasting methods.
- Proficient in cost management and project control software (e.g., Primavera, MS Excel, ERP systems).
- Solid analytical and numerical skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to interpret project schedules, BOQs, and progress reports.
- Excellent communication and coordination skills across multi-disciplinary teams.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to issue resolution.
- High level of integrity, accuracy, and accountability in financial reporting.
- Proficient in English.
