Contracts Engineer

Role Purpose

The Contracts Engineer supports the commercial and contractual management of infrastructure projects, ensuring that contractual obligations are administered effectively, risks are controlled, and entitlements are protected. The role plays a key part in change management, claims support, correspondence, and compliance with contract conditions throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Accountabilities

• Assist in the administration and management of project contracts in accordance with the applicable contract conditions (e.g., FIDIC) throughout the project lifecycle
• Support the review and interpretation of contract documents, specifications, and project correspondence.
• Assist in tracking contractual obligations, deliverables, notices, and key project milestones.
• Assist with preparation, review and management of contractual correspondence, notices, and records
• Assist in variations, and claims management and procedures, including the preparation and maintaining of supporting documentation, substantiation, contemporary records, claim narratives, etc. 
• Coordinate with Project, QS, Planning, consultants, subcontractors, and Commercial teams on contractual matters
• Ensure compliance with company procedures, client requirements, and applicable regulations

Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge & Skills

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, or related discipline
• 1-2 years’ experience in contracts or commercial roles within infrastructure or construction
• Experience working on infrastructure projects preferred (roads, utilities, marine, civil works)
• Familiarity with FIDIC-based contracts
• UAE or GCC project experience preferred
