Role Purpose

Assist in the administration and coordination of worker welfare programs, support the maintenance of labour camps, and help address workers’ grievances to ensure discipline, general upkeep, safety, and overall welfare of employees residing in these camps.

Key Accountabilities

  • Assist in implementing and maintaining worker welfare procedures and standards at project level in compliance with UAE Labour Law, company policies, and client requirements.
  • Ensure legal and contractual welfare obligations are properly integrated into welfare management plans, project documentation, and site-level procedures.
  • Serve as the primary welfare representative and point of contact at the project, acting as a liaison between workers, subcontractors, and management on all welfare-related matters.
  • Conduct routine site visits to monitor welfare facilities, hygiene conditions, food services, accommodations, and overall employee wellbeing, ensuring proper discipline, safety, and maintenance.
  • Assist in organizing and conducting regular welfare inspections and welfare audits for projects and subcontractors, documenting observations and submitting reports to the HSSE & Welfare Manager.
  • Track and report welfare KPIs, providing accurate data and insights for internal reviews and management decision-making.
  • Follow up on non-compliance issues, support corrective and preventive action plans, and ensure timely closure of grievances raised through formal and informal channels.
  • Deliver welfare induction to all site workers, including subcontractor staff, ensuring awareness of welfare standards, grievance processes, and available support.
  • Coordinate with employees, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to promote welfare awareness and drive continuous improvement across sites.
  • Provide basic guidance and support to employees on personal concerns, workplace issues, and grievance procedures when required, under the supervision of the HSSE & Welfare Manager.
  • Prepare daily welfare reports and maintain documentation related to inspections, audits, complaints, and welfare performance.
  • Support in planning and delivering welfare, wellbeing, and CSR programs and awareness campaigns across all projects.
  • Identify areas for improvement in welfare practices and propose practical recommendations to the HSSE & Welfare Manager.

Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge & Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree or Equivalent Diploma
  • Basic to sound knowledge of worker welfare issues and UAE Labour Law, with some MENA-based experience (preferably 2–4 years).
  • Ability to handle and interact effectively with workers, strong interpersonal and coordination skills.
  • Good communication skills, including familiarity with the language(s) spoken by the majority of workers at the site.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications such as Word and Excel for reporting and documentation purposes.
