Quality Inspector

Role Purpose

To conduct quality inspections on Innovo MEP project sites, verifying installations comply with approved drawings, specifications, and inspection and test plans.

Key Accountabilities

  • Inspection Execution
    • Conduct hold-point and routine quality inspections on MEP installations.
    • Record inspection results and raise observations for non-compliant work.
  • Documentation
    • Complete inspection checklists and maintain quality records for assigned scope.
    • Photograph and log evidence of inspections to support quality records and NCR substantiation.
  • Follow-Up
    • Verify close-out of corrective actions for previously raised observations.
    • Re-inspect rectified work to confirm compliance before sign-off.
  • Standards Verification
    • Verify installation work against approved drawings, specifications, and inspection and test plans.
    • Check materials and workmanship against manufacturer installation guidelines and project standards.
  • Reporting
    • Submit daily inspection reports summarising results, observations, and outstanding items to the Quality Engineer.
    • Maintain inspection trackers showing status of hold points across the assigned scope.

Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge & Skills

Qualifications

  • Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, or Building Services Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Recognised quality inspection certification (e.g. CSWIP, NDT, or equivalent trade-specific certification) is desirable.

Experience

  • Minimum 3–5 years of quality inspection experience within MEP construction projects.
  • Demonstrated experience conducting hold-point inspections and verifying work against inspection and test plans.
  • Experience supporting non-conformance reporting and corrective action close-out processes.

Knowledge

  • Sound knowledge of MEP installation standards, specifications, and manufacturer installation requirements.
  • Working knowledge of inspection and test plans, quality checklists, and hold-point procedures.
  • Familiarity with quality management systems and documentation requirements (e.g. ISO 9001 principles).

Skills

    • Strong attention to detail with a high standard of reporting accuracy.
    • Competent in maintaining inspection records, trackers, and photographic evidence logs.
    • Clear written and verbal communication skills for reporting observations and liaising with site teams.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office and digital inspection/reporting tools.
