Landscape Engineer

Role Purpose

 

We are seeking a qualified and experienced Landscape Technical Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing and reviewing landscape design drawings, shop drawings, material submittals, and technical documents to ensure compliance with project specifications and authority requirements. The candidate will work closely with the landscape manager, site team, and consultants to support the project’s technical and execution needs from design to final handover.

Key Accountabilities

 

1. Technical Documentation & Drawings

  • Prepare, review, and update landscape shop drawings, as-built drawings, and coordination drawings.
  • Ensure all drawings comply with project specifications, standards, and authority requirements.
  • Coordinate with CAD draftsmen to develop detailed landscape drawings (hardscape, softscape, irrigation, grading, etc.).

2. Material & Technical Submittals

  • Prepare and submit material submittals, method statements, and technical proposals for approvals.
  • Review and verify conformity of materials with project requirements prior to procurement.
  • Coordinate with suppliers and subcontractors for gathering technical data.

3. Site Coordination

  • Provide technical support to the site execution team during installation of landscape works.
  • Inspect ongoing work to ensure compliance with approved drawings and specifications.
  • Assist in resolving technical issues that may arise on-site.

4. Irrigation System Support

  • Review and prepare irrigation network drawings, details, and hydraulic calculations.
  • Coordinate with suppliers and subcontractors regarding irrigation equipment and layouts.

5. Project Communication & Coordination

  • Attend technical meetings with consultants, clients, and internal teams.
  • Follow up on comments from consultant/engineer and ensure timely re-submissions.
  • Maintain logs for drawings, submittals, RFIs, and approvals.

6. Documentation & Reporting

  • Prepare technical reports as required by the project.
  • Maintain records and documentation for project handover (O&M manuals, warranties, as-built).
  • Support the preparation of weekly and monthly progress reports.

Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge & Skills

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Landscape Architecture, Civil Engineering, Agriculture Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum 3–5 years experience in landscape construction or design (GCC experience preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of landscape materials, plants, hardscape, and irrigation systems.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Office, and landscape design software.
  • Strong technical writing and documentation skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications.
  • Good communication and coordination skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
